Tips for wheelchair users

Paths and stairs

Please access the garden café from the east. Having passed the glasshouse complex, please take the path to your left to the alpine greenhouse (the café is signposted). Some stairs along the so-called "Frühlingsweg", the path featuring the best displays in spring, make this path less suitable.

You can access the low-lying ornamental courtyard via the handrail-lined paved path. It starts to the left of the wide main staircase, south of the ornamental courtyard and is indicated by the wheelchair symbol on the garden map.

Toilet facilities

A spacious toilet with modern amenities for wheelchair access is located in an outbuilding close to the café. Note that the front door will be locked when occupied. Separate toilet facilities for men and women are in the same outbuilding. Another toilet is located at the end of the glasshouse complex (hall C).

Tram and bus

According to the MVV (the Munich public transport network) both the tramline number 17 and the bus number 143 are suitable for wheelchair access. However, some assistance may be required since the door sills are not level with the pavement.

Car parking

Two disabled car parking spaces are provided in front of the "Botanische Staatsanstalten", the large building with the wide staircase in Menzinger Straße 67. The main entrance of the Botanical Garden is in Menzinger Straße 65, approx. 60 meters along, facing toward the city centre.
